I know this is super late…. but I had a Thanksgiving dinner. An an INCREDIBLE one at that, here in Costa Rica. And I didn’t have to cook a thing (though I did have to work to earn it).
For a second year in a row, I got to celebrate Thanksgiving in Costa Rica thanks to OTIAC, which is a pretty awesome hostel/spanish school/restaurant/tour organizer. They’re awesome, and they make my job (and life) so much easier.
After 24 hours of putting up with enjoying the company of the volunteers, it was so awesome to sit down with the 23 people that I’ve spent the past year with, it was an awesome, delicious, almost better than my own family’s (but not quite) traditional Thanksgiving dinner prepared by a Canadian, a Dutch, and a few Costa Ricans.
And I am so thankful for it.
