Half and Half
I know it’s probably really bad for me, but I love coffee with half and half.  It’s just… like nothing else.  It’s one of the things I really miss about home (is that weird?) since it doesn’t really exist here in Costa Rica. Just wanted to explain why there was half and half creamer in the package…

– Relevant magazine (via Diana) Relevant to a recent conversation I had with a certain someone. Sharing in the dream posts
I had the strangest nightmare last night that my aunt tattooed me!! And I didn’t like the tattoo.  I liked the first one she did, but then she kept going until my whole forearm was covered.  And she would ask questions like “how many stars do you want?” and was doing stars for the birthdays of all my family members (I think that’s a direct correlation to my birthday coming...

Happy Time Travel Day!
Now I’m only an hour difference from home.  An hour.  That’s nothing.  Also, I wrote this about daylight savings time last year… thought I would share on this magical day.  It was published on WorldTeach’s website for a few months, you know, I was famous. Here you go: Besides a somewhat regular update to the dirt road leading through town, everything mostly stays the...

Fall in Costa Rica
Fall is my favorite season (Well, I’m pretty sure.  Summer comes pretty close.)  And, for that, it’s been pretty hard to be down here away from all the pumpkin flavored things, cool weather, playing dress-up on Halloween, and all the birthday celebrations I’ve missed (shoutout EmEx, Lizzy, and Cath!). My fall has consisted of rain, rain, 1 cup of pumpkin fro-yo (one day only!!)...

itwillalwaysb: Today is November 1st! Why do I love this day so much? Because it’s my birthday month? no. Because it’s my favorite holiday month? no.  BECAUSE! All the Halloween candy is 50% off! That’s right. I’m going to the grocery store, target, and cvs to stock up on fun sized candy.  DIT.TO.

Today was a day.
I woke up hungover (I NEED to learn that I cannot drink like I’m in college anymore) around 9. In and out of sleeping until around 12:30. Then, in one of those perfect moments, my cat knocked my soap dispenser off of my bathroom sink and it landed under my foot.  (You know when that happens?  No? Only me?) I cut my foot on the class pretty badly and bled all over my apartment until it got...

I want to be a better blogger, I really do
But it’s so hard when I can’t stop reading all of your guys’ blogs.  Seriously, half of my life is reading my dashboard.  Easily, half. My trip to the States was AMAZING.  I didn’t take a single picture in DC (at least not one that I successfully saved to my iPod) so there’s that disappointment.  But other than that, my trip rocked.  Full of cupcakes and friends, way...

More Adventures in Translation
Me: How long have you been married?
A guy: Since 2 months.
Me: (Thinking: Since you were 2 months old???) You mean, 2 months ago?
A guy: Yeah, yeah, 2 months ago.
(Also, I'm thinking of making this a blog-thing.)

Just had a minor panic attack
A moment where I thought, I cannot do this. After only 24 hours living alone. After only 48 hours working alone. After a not-too-bad day (I even had human contact). And I sit down to eat dinner (alone) and the tears just start pouring. How am I going to do this for a year? Or even the next 3 months? Luckily, I talked to my mom and calmed down quite a bit.  She reminded me, basically, that I...

Today was a sad day
I know I’m so mysterious and secretive on this little blog of mine, but I want to get better. I’m thinking that probably very few of you know, but I work for a NGO down here in Costa Rica.  A very small NGO.  As in, the field staff for Costa Rica consists of one full-time person and sometimes an assistant.  For the past 9 months, I’ve been the assistant to the Field Director,...
