Since I haven’t blogged in a while… here’s a picture of me and my cat.
Happy holidays from Luci (the cat) and I!!
I flew into New York on Wednesday, proven by my recent photos of Shake Shack and Penn Station, went to the Christmas tree and Top Shop (!!!!!!!!!!!), and now I’m home in the first state in a warm house with my parents.
Hope you are all having an equally happy holiday!!!
SHAKE SHACK!!!
My first ever and I was not disappointed.
Just arrived at Penn station!!! And the best part is…it’s totally not as cold as I thought it would be!
If I had to thank tumblr for one thing ever, it would be this. I laugh out loud when previewing the calls. Don’t worry, I have friends and stuff, I promise.
Signing into gmail whenever you open your browser at work means you find things like google telling you to send someone you love a phone call from Santa. Let me tell you, it’s even more fun than it sounds!
Dudes. The funnest thing since Words With Friends.
I will absolutely be doing this.

Until that SNL skit last night. And I have no idea if that episode was new.
I know it’s probably really bad for me, but I love coffee with half and half. It’s just… like nothing else. It’s one of the things I really miss about home (is that weird?) since it doesn’t really exist here in Costa Rica.
Just wanted to explain why there was half and half creamer in the package…
I HAVE THE BEST BOSS! It’s really a shame that we don’t work in the same country or anything, but thanks, Cara!!
After a bad day week, this makes things a little better. AND I’M ABOUT TO RUN OUT OF HAIR THINGS.
Also, some people may think I’m crazy, but have you tried those plastic hair things from scunci? They are amazing. I have a ton of hair and these are the only things I can use when I run.
This is the thing: When you hit 28 or 30, everything begins to divide. You can see very clearly two kinds of people. On one side, people who have used their 20s to learn and grow, to find … themselves and their dreams, people who know what works and what doesn’t, who have pushed through to become real live adults. Then there’s the other kind, who are hanging onto college, or high school even, with all their might. They’ve stayed in jobs they hate, because they’re too scared to get another one. They’ve stayed with men or women who are good but not great, because they don’t want to be lonely. … they mean to develop intimate friendships, they mean to stop drinking like life is one big frat party. But they don’t do those things, so they live in an extended adolescence, no closer to adulthood than when they graduated.
Don’t be like that. Don’t get stuck. Move, travel, take a class, take a risk. There is a season for wildness and a season for settledness, and this is neither. This season is about becoming. Don’t lose yourself at happy hour, but don’t lose yourself on the corporate ladder either. Stop every once in a while and go out to coffee or climb in bed with your journal.
Ask yourself some good questions like: “Am I proud of the life I’m living? What have I tried this month? … Do the people I’m spending time with give me life, or make me feel small? Is there any brokenness in my life that’s keeping me from moving forward?”
Now is your time. Walk closely with people you love, and with people who believe … life is a grand adventure. Don’t get stuck in the past, and don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned. Give today all the love and intensity and courage you can, and keep traveling honestly along life’s path.

Relevant to a recent conversation I had with a certain someone. Between moving to a city and state where I didn’t know a soul, to changing careers after only working for two years in the one I had worked towards in college, I feel pretty good about my current place in life.
”..don’t try to fast-forward yourself into a future you haven’t yet earned.” Couldn’t have said it any better.

Also, a volunteer’s performance of an “essay” she wrote. It’s entitled “I’m living on a mountaintop.”
This is considered part of my job.
